You’ll find the entertainment, dining and shopping options of a much larger city hidden away in a small-town oasis with a warm desert climate and 350 days of sunshine per year.

Kingman AZ

Route 66, Joshua Tree Nat'l Park (NP), Amboy CA, Oatman AZ. Kingman Route 66 Museum. Lodging in restored Route 66 Motor Lodge. Our departure from Palm Springs takes us into Joshua Tree National Park. Giant branching yuccas thrive on sandy plains studded by massive granite monoliths and some of the most intriguing geological features found in California's desert regions. We join the Mother Road at Amboy and follow it to Oatman, formerly a prosperous mining town that at one time was one of the largest gold producers in the West. Wild burros, descended from animals left behind by the miners, freely roam the streets of town.

Grand Canyon NP

Longest remaining segment of Route 66, Willams AZ, Grand Canyon NP. We ride on the longest uninterrupted segment of Route 66 left intact for most of the next day, traveling, through towns like Hackberry, Peach Springs and Seligman. By mid-afternoon we arrive at Grand Canyon Nat'l Park.

Monument Valley

Grand Canyon sight-seeing, optional helicopter ride. Depart late morning for Monument Valley Native American Experience. Monument Valley was the filming location for countless classic western movies. You’ll recognize the rock formations immediately. Located on land belonging to the Navajo Nation, we’ll experience the Valley by jeep with Navajo guides.

We'll see the General Grant - the largest tree on earth! hese isolated parks testify to nature's size, beauty, and diversity - huge mountains, rugged foothills, deep canyons, vast caverns, and the world's largest trees, some over 2,000 years old. Elevations range from 1,370 to 14,494 feet. (418-4,417m)

Cambria CA

Californai Central Valley, Pacific Coast Hwy, Big Sur. Optional Hearst Castle tour.Many of the fruits and vegetables consumed in the US are grown in California’s Central Valley. We’ll cross it as we make our way back to the Pacific Coast and our hotel on the seaside at Cambria, located just a few miles from an interesting historic stop at the Hearst Castle. Formerly the home of newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst, the Castle is now a California State Park.
